Nadharia Transitional Safe House
The Nadharia Safe House serves as a critical sanctuary for trans and masculine womxn, offering protection from imminent harm and assisting them in identifying both immediate and long-term safety, care, and support needs. This safe haven connects Androgynous/Trans individuals with organizations that can provide assistance with a range of issues, including justice, violence, victim services, mental and physical health, homelessness, poverty, sexual abuse, substance dependency, employment, education, and income assistance.
Nadharia Green haven initiative
To further support the shelter’s sustainability, Nadharia CBO has implemented an organic farming project. This initiative includes a hydroponic system for growing vegetables, which helps reduce grocery costs and ensures a steady supply of fresh produce for the residents. Additionally, we have invested in poultry farming at the shelter and expanded this effort to Charm City in Kisumu. These agricultural projects not only contribute to the shelter’s self-sufficiency but also provide opportunities for residents to gain valuable skills in sustainable farming practices. Through these efforts, Nadharia CBO continues to create a supportive and empowering environment for sexual and gender minorities.
